John Gebretatose is in town this November and offering a workshop on Characters. This workshop will explore the challenge of one improviser playing multiple characters within one scene or show. We will look at ways to help you remember all those lovely characters in your brain while having fun. You will leave with a handle on what systems work best for you when remembering details and juggling all of your improv characters and their wants and needs, your improv plot points and more. We you’ll leave with tools to help you add more layers to your improv.
John Gebretatose is in town this November and offering a workshop on Hard Topics. This workshop will highlight what happens to us as performers when a scene becomes scary, offensive, or insensitive, and we freeze or lose ourselves. We explore some approaches to get the agency back when we find ourselves somewhere uncomfortable, tools for improvising mindfully, and finding a proactive voice for you and your show. We will learn the SwagHat format. A living room-style discussion, and then we perform scenes inspired by the conversation.
