The Hideout needs your help.

Since we opened in 1999, we have been located in the heart of downtown Austin at 617 Congress Ave. We have seen downtown change a lot since we first opened, and we have weathered a lot of challenges: recessions, 3+ years of hotel construction next to us, a pandemic.

Now, The Hideout faces its most difficult challenge to date: In December of 2024, our building was sold, and the new owner gave us 9 months notice to vacate. We need to find a new home by mid-September.

How can you help? There’s no easy way to say it—The Hideout needs financial help. Finding and renovating a new space is going to cost at least $750,000, by our estimates.

A lot of customers don’t realize this, but The Hideout has never charged ticketing fees or added sales tax to ticket prices. Most venue websites add fees and taxes at checkout, adding 20 or 30% to the final price. We’ve never liked that, and so we’ve simply never done it.
