The creation of an improv show is much like the creation of a great meal. They both need to be seasoned properly, balanced, not too sweet, not too bitter. Using a special recipe that consists of a talented cast of improvisers, a visionary director and expert tech, we have created The Grizzly!
The Grizzly Director Lex Okeke
The Grizzly is directed by Lex Okeke, a talented comedian who is prolific in Austin’s Improv and sketch comedy scene. This is her first show to direct and she’s hit the ground running pulling together a talented and diverse cast who are delving deep into the relationships between their characters, all of which are created on the spot!
The Grizzly is inspired by the hit TV show The Bear, with its heartwarming moments and tense situations, but Okeke has framed The Grizzly to be as much about the intensity and stress of creating an improv show as it is about characters in a kitchen.
The audience will get to see the actors’ thought processes throughout the show as they discuss themes and relationships from the show much like a chefs would in a commercial kitchen. They’ll pull together the “recipe” of themes, characters, bits and more that all come together to create this delicious show that the audience will then get to enjoy!
