Saturday Afternoon Workshop (2.5hrs)
Acting for Improv
with Paulina Fricke
Acting for improv will teach you the essential acting techniques you need to befriend a vampire… Just kidding. We’ll actually explore acting exercises that can help you drop in and deliver highly emotional and believable scenes and characters! Over 2.5 hours we will cover:
- Real Feelings, Ew: techniques that’ll help you access and portray genuine emotions on the fly. Making every scene deeply felt.
- Listening is HARD: Sharpen your listening skills to catch every detail from your scene partners, making your reactions and contributions hit harder.
- What Do I Do with my Hands!?: Master the art of non-verbal communication. Or at least get better at it. Learn to use your movement to tell a story and captivate the audience.
- Being God/Character Creation: creating multi dimensional characters, with strong back stories, POV’s, and a clear sense of environment.
I’ll be using a blend of acting techniques I learned while studying at Beverly Hills Playhouse and Carol Hickey Acting Studio. This workshop is your chance to infuse strong acting technique into your improvised scenes to create multi dimensional, super sparkly performances.
This class is open to graduates of Level One or above.
2-4:30pm on Saturday, October 25 (pay what you can $29/$39/$50)
