Shebeast’s Unleash The Beast workshop concentrates on gifting, monoscenes and characters. Shebeast’s approach to gifting focuses on playing boldly, making firm decisions in scenes and gifting your fellow players rich detail to fill out the world of the scene. Monoscene concentrates on extended play; where to turn when you think you’ve run out of information, milking a scene for all it’s worth, pulling new details, presenting new ideas, revealing truths and playing like the show will never end. The characters portion prioritizes creating rich and interesting characters. Using your body, voice, experiences, to create complex and interesting characters. Are you ready to unleash your inner Shebeast?

Shebeast is a badass group of women who do not play by your typical rules of improv. They are loud, headstrong, have no filter and focus on outrageous characters and monoscene work. Shebeast will teach you how to trust your gut instincts, play aggressively while still supporting the scene and your fellow players. You will learn the tools to get out of your own way and have some damn fun already!

Susan Glynn has been improvising, acting, directing, writing, and coaching in Chicago for nine years. Of all of her accomplishments, she is most proud of performing with Shebeast (a nasty gang of truly terrible women) for the past four years at The Annoyance on Friday nights. She has also performed on House Teams at Second City, with Second City Theatricals aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines, on several Harold teams at iO, and, on Trigger Happy at The Annoyance. She cowrote and directed Grease 3: Even Greasier, A Parody Musical that ran for twenty weeks at The Annoyance Theater and she performs Saturdays at iO Theatre with Your Fucked Up Relationship.
