Interested in helping us make Maestro as awesome as possible every single week? Come get your hands dirty with Roy Janik (Hideout owner and Artistic Director) and Andy Crouch (Education Director). We’ll talk about (and PLAY with) best practices for warming up the cast, hosting the show, setting up and directing games and scenes, cultivating mischief and excitement, creating a fun “shape of show,” and giving constructive notes afterward. All toward the goal of creating a fun, world-class experience for improvisers and audience members alike.
Have fun, meet new people and learn to improvise in the Hideout’s low-pressure classes. This six-week workshop is designed for anyone who wants to loosen up, be more spontaneous and learn to take risks on stage and in life.
This is an advanced scene study class, exploring advanced techniques and strategies for getting out of your own way, keeping the audience in the palm of your hand, making strong choices in games, scenes and longer formats, and recognizing the difference between genuine delight and politely muddling through. Level Four includes a strong direct feedback component.

Ratas de Dos Patas designed this workshop to help improvisors of all levels learn how create distinct characters in their improv. We will assess our individual voices through classic and unique improv exercises. Then we will take things to the next level with vocal and physical explorations to find an array of characters we can bring on stage.
Ratas de Dos Patas are proud to present this workshop for BIPOC Women and Femmes in improv to have a brave space where they are uplifted, celebrated, and rejoiced. This workshop is dedicated in loving memory of Sandra Ybarra and the light she brought to everyone around her. We will explore the difficulties we face as BIPOC women and femmes in improv, work on exercises that highlight the power we bring to the stages, and learn skills on how break the barriers we face in our art form.
