We are so excited to announce that we have brought on Lindsey McGowan and Cindy Page to be the technical directors at the hideout. Cindy and Lindsey have been integral to the success and quality The Hideout has achieved in recent years. Now that they are working with us in a more official capacity, we’re very excited to see what comes next! Welcome Lindsey and Cindy!
Lindsey McGowen has a BA in Technical Theater from Case Western Reserve University, and after moving to Austin from Detroit in early 2014, she quickly made herself a go-to person for technical theater needs in the area. In addition to working on Hideout mainstages such as The International Improv Experience, Boy, Howdy!, Savage Swords and Austin Secrets, she was also a technical improviser and stage manager for both the 2014 and 2015 B. Iden Payne Award-winning shows Hurly Burly and Nothing & Everything: Improvised Chekhov Plays. She is also Technical Director for the Hideout monthly show “Control Issues” and troupe History Under the Influence. Outside of improv, Lindsey is a nationally touring teacher and performer in the contemporary a cappella community.
Cindy Page is an inveterate member of the Tech Ninja Death Squad. Since 2011, she hasmade her home in the tech booths of the Hideout and Institution theaters; providing lights and sound for shows including B. Iden Payne award winning Hurly Burly, and Hideout mainstages A Deed So Dark, Austin Secrets, and Strange Worlds. She also trained the technical improvisers for The Aftermath and SongRunner, and is a founding member of Tech Nightmare and Technical Director for the Out of Bounds Comedy Festival. Her rare appearances on stage usually feature a puppet, musical instrument, or both; as a performer with BatShyt Crazy Puppets, one quarter of the Tiny Cute Trio, and the non-felt bassist forFragile Rock.
Awesome!
